Research indicates that certain critical interpersonal and organizational factors influence employee attitudes (Heavey, Halliday, Gilbert, & Murphy, 2011; Kidwell & Valentine, 2009). Although that which affects one employee’s attitudes may not affect another’s, most I/O psychologists agree that attitudes affect organizational practices such as work attendance, work engagement, and interactions with co-workers.
