Advanced technology in education
Application of advanced technology in education such as simulations, learning modules, and software system has proved to be of importance, especially in both post-secondary institutions and public schools. Formative evaluation has been used on several occasions to improve technology in learning by facilitating design modifications to align to curricular content. There are eight steps in planning a developmental evaluation. However, this paper seeks to provide a brief description of the process of integrating advanced technology in the learning environment.
Computer programming is essential in the planning process of my project because it assists in creating an eco-friendly solution to learning, ascertains innovative approaches to learning, and speeds up the process of teaching and learning. Software engineers must uncover errors in programming (Shaw, 2000). Skipping this phase during formative evaluation can result in devastating results. For instance, software bugs can paralyze learning in a school. I selected this step because it can influence the failure or success of the project. It is also at this stage when predictions are made and possible measures are deduced.
Types of Formative Evaluation
Connoisseur based evaluation involves engaging an expert who has a deep understanding of the project in terms of technicality, principles, details, and staff competence (Flagg, 2013). Decision-oriented evaluation entails planning, structuring, and implementation. Objective evaluation requires providing an unbiased appraisal of the project (Tessmer, 2013). Public relations inspired assessment is conducted by PR professionals who determine the expectations and perspectives expected by educators. Connoisseur based evaluation is the best formative evaluation because it takes into account details and technical nature of the program for educational purpose.
